3 Ways to Create Video Content that Adds Value

You've all seen them.  The business overview Web videos that, nine times out of ten, are, let's face it, boring.  And unfortunately, boring online videos mean viewers leave the page or stop the Internet video before it's complete, often without seeing pertinent advertising information.

So, how do you make your Web video, well, not boring?  The best way is to add value, or give your viewers information they want to know or that makes their lives better or easier. By engaging your audience, you improve your credibility making your customers more likely to trust you with their business, in turn leading to higher prospect conversion rates.

Here are three ways to add value with your online video:

1. Answer a question.  No doubt your target audience has all sorts of burning questions about your field of expertise. You are the expert so share your knowledge.  Again this strengthens your credibility and makes it even more comfortable for your customers to buy from you.

Example:  Pillowmart.com's doctor offers 10 tips on how to get a good night's sleep.  Click below to see the online video (it is at the bottom of the page).

2. Teach your audience a skill they want to learn.  How-to videos are a great way to demonstrate your expertise while highlighting your product or service in a "soft sell" manner.

Example: Screamin Outdoors, a hunting and fishing adventure company, features Web videos that demonstrate different techniques for baiting a hook (using their products, of course).  Click below to see the videos.

3. Entertain your audience.  Consumers often make decisions based on emotion rather than logic (and we all have closets full of DVDs to prove it).  Engage your target audience emotionally by creating content that pulls at their heart strings.

Example:  Dance Baltimore features a section of online videos called "Just for Fun," highlighting funny videos of people dancing.  Check out the videos by clicking below.

The more you can engage your target viewers, the more likely they are to share your Web videos, effectively turning your customers into your marketers which is always the most effective kind of marketing.

What Do You Think of VideoBloom's New Web Site and Platform?

Last month we unveiled our new, easier to use Web site and online video platform, both of which sport more features, better functionality and look quite a bit sharper (if we do say so ourselves).  Obviously, we think the improvements are worthwhile but we'd like to hear your opinion.

We've put together a brief survey (it shouldn't take more than 1 minute or so of your time) to find out what you think of the changes.

Specifically, we're wondering:

  1. Are you able to find the information you are looking for on our Web site?
  2. Is the platform easy to use?
  3. For your needs, what are the top 5 most useful features of the VideoBloom platform?
  4. From all the features of the VideoBloom platform, which ones do you find difficult to use?

Please click here to begin the survey.  Thanks in advance for your time and feedback.

Thank you and remember VideoBloom is your source for reliable and innovative video solutions.
